Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how checkmysocial.me ("checkmysocial", "we", "us") handles information when you visit a public profile, use a creator dashboard, or contact us.
1. Information we collect
When a public profile is viewed or a link is selected, we record limited analytics information:
- the date and time of the event;
- the profile viewed and the link or social item selected;
- the referring website's hostname, or "Direct" when none is available; and
- the visitor's country code supplied by our network provider. We do not use this to collect precise location.
For creator accounts, we process the profile name, handle, uploaded images, social links, content links, dashboard authentication information, and account settings. Failed login information may be used temporarily to limit repeated attempts.
If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message, such as your email address and request.
2. How we use information
- to provide and maintain public profiles and creator dashboards;
- to show creators aggregated views, clicks, referral sources, countries, and daily trends;
- to protect accounts, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot the service;
- to respond to questions and privacy requests; and
- to comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Legal bases
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract to operate creator accounts, our legitimate interests in providing secure and useful profile analytics, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we specifically request it.
4. Cookies
Public profiles do not use advertising cookies. When a creator signs in, we set a first-party, HTTP-only authentication cookie so the dashboard can remain signed in. It is used only for account access and expires automatically after seven days. Your browser settings can remove or block cookies, but blocking the authentication cookie prevents dashboard login.
5. Sharing and service providers
We use infrastructure and security providers, including hosting and Cloudflare, to deliver and protect the service. These providers may process technical request information such as IP addresses under their own terms and our service arrangements. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the service. We do not sell visitor analytics.
6. External links
Profiles can link to social networks and third-party content platforms. When you follow an external link, that provider's privacy policy and terms apply. We do not control how third-party services collect or use information.
7. Retention
We keep profile data while the relevant creator account remains active and retain analytics and security records only for as long as reasonably needed to operate, secure, evaluate, and meet legal requirements for the service. Requests for deletion may be subject to necessary security, legal, or dispute-resolution retention.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so creators should use unique passwords and keep dashboard credentials confidential.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
10. Age-restricted links
Some profiles link to content intended only for adults. The age-confirmation screen does not store your age or identity; it asks you to confirm eligibility before following the external link.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The current version and its update date will remain available on this page.
